The Clearing (2017)

The Clearing is a play by rising playwright Jake Jeppson. It is the story of two brothers bound together by a terrible secret they’ve been hiding for 18 years. The Ellis family is in many ways a typical American family but the love they share is intense, all-consuming, and even obliterating.

When a handsome stranger inserts himself into this tight-knit circle, mother and sons must discover if they have the courage to shatter the bond that has kept them unmoving for two decades and risk the unknown.

It is a play about the difference between loving someone and living for someone through an exciting new theatrical voice.

Love Runs Out (2016)

So what do you do when Love Runs Out? We explore this from two very different perspectives.

In Hit & Match, we meet Cooper Williams, a hitman on a hunt for a different target – love. Coupled with a host of interesting women and a chauvinistic mentor who believes that love only exists below the belt, we soon realise that love is more complex than it seems.

In Unveiling, an ironic tale wrought with realistic themes and an extremist view of modern society, we are presented with a fragmented display of love. Michael and Vera begin as a seemingly perfect couple. For their “unveiling” party, there is only one guest – Ferdinand who is clearly uncomfortable with their public displays of their sexual intimacy. With each chime of the clock, their happy façade slowly morphs into a desperate display of how love has truly run out.
